Voiceovers and Websites – The GKN Weekly Update 7/21/15

I just rebuilt my voiceover website. That is to say, my amazing webmaster Nikki Saco of Saco Media did. You can check it out here. I’m very happy with it.

I think every professional voice talent should have a website. And by website I mean an actual website, not a Facebook Page or your Voice123/Voices.com page.

With that in mind, what should be ON the website?

  1. Testimonials?

  2. Headshots?

  3. Samples?

  4. Demos? Which ones? In what order?

  5. A Contact page? A Contact form?

  6. An About page?

  7. A blog? A blogroll?

  8. A list of clients?

  9. Social media buttons? If so, which ones?

TIP OF THE WEEK

Before you try to answer any of the above questions, there is a critical one you must answer first: does your website reflect your brand?

If you can’t even define branding much less know what your branding is, stop what you’re doing and look it up. You need to know what branding is and develop your own brand or you will waste large amounts of time, money, and energy building or rebuilding a website that won’t serve you.

Once you figure that out, THEN you can address the other questions. Why? Because you need to determine if they can and how they will reflect your brand.

Take your time, do your research, and find a great webmaster (like Nikki) who can help show you the way!

HAPPY HAPPYS!

Happy Hot Dog Day and Tell an Old Joke Day! I told one last week so I’m covered…
