Cloud storage is a necessary, if not critical, part of an effective voiceover business in 2020. The ability to save, store, and deliver files electronically can be the difference between booking and not booking a gig.
I bring this up because I had to return my desktop computer and ensure that all of my files are safely backed up in cloud storage. In the process of doing this, I discovered some interesting things…
I had a lot more cloud storage space than I realized in a variety of places.
DropBox (where I store my audio files) 2TB
Google Drive/Photos (where I store my docs/spreadsheets/pics) 60GB
Box (which I forgot I had) 50GB
OneDrive (which I didn’t know I had) 105GB
To make it easier to backup and sync my cloud storage, I discovered MultCloud, which with a free account allows you to do just that.
TIP OF THE WEEK
I strongly recommend a double-redundant system utilizing both cloud storage and home storage. Triple, actually.
Use a cloud storage service like DropBox or Google Drive to stare and organize your files.
Use a daily file backup program like Carbonite.
Regularly back your files onto an external hard drive.
