Let’s talk about Marketing goals
Marketing is no one thing. It’s more than the sum if it’s parts. It’s an overall strategy, an approach to how you’re gonna get your name out there. It’s too much to go into here, so I’ll just touch on a critical component of marketing: networking! It’s my favorite.
Networking is actively engaging individuals and building a relationship with them (or at least trying to). Good ways to network include attending events, being active on social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), and my (least) favorite, cold calls. Networking is a critical aspect of your business!
TIP OF THE WEEK
If you have an Action Plan, it had better include attending events every month, cold-calling every week, and engaging in social media every day. Honestly, I don’t care how shy you are or if you live in the middle of nowhere. There are opportunities everywhere! Chamber of Commerce, Meetup groups, Toastmasters, just to name a few…
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
Steven Colbert: What’s the difference between a geek and a nerd? Richard Clark: Geeks get it done. Nerds don’t.
STUFF
I sent out my Good Karma Network Quarterly Newsletter last week and thanks for the kind words! If you didn’t get it, you can read it here.
I have a new Commercial Demo! You can listen to it here.
I imported my Outlook address book into Skype. 852 contacts later and BAM!!! I’m popular. Or at least I have people who don’t remember me asking who the hell I am. BTW I’m Rognog1 if you wanna connect…
I saw “The Iron Lady” over the weekend. That’s the Meryl Streep film about Margaret Thatcher. The movie was average but she was AMAZING! It reminded me of Phillip Seymour Hoffman in “Capote”. Meh film, incredible performance. It’s worth the ticket price just to see her in action!
