Next week I’m going to FaffCamp 2, Voiceover Boogaloo! Whoo hoo!!!

What is FaffCamp, you ask? To quote myself from a previous blog entry (is that cheating?):

“It will be held Friday March 20th through Sunday March 22nd in San Antonio, Texas. FaffCamp is a very special voiceover conference and I’ll tell you why…

To quote the FaffCamp Website, ‘Faff Camp is a peer-to-peer professional development conference for working voiceover pros (not just voice talents, voice actors, and narrators, but all pros who do work related to voice overs). It’s participant driven and highly interactive, just like its sister event FaffCon. But most of the agenda is set in advance, which makes it possible for us to welcome a larger group.’

In other words, anyone in the voiceover industry can attend and you don’t have to be a gristled veteran! Non-voice talents are welcome as well; including producers, agents, casting directors, and engineers. There will be lots for you to do, see, and learn, as well as benefit from invaluable networking opportunities! There will be many high-quality presenters and I myself will be pitching in with a seminar.

All that aside; the friends that you make, the heartfelt sense of comradery, and the opportunity to be a part of something truly special makes FaffCamp a must.”

TIP OF THE WEEK: Three Reasons to go to FaffCamp? The people, the people, and the people!

I’ve had the privilege of attending five FaffCons and this will be my second FaffCamp. Being a part of the voiceoover community has reaped immeasurable dividends for me both professionally and personally.

It has taught me that having a great voice, a big honkin’ agent, and financial success means nothing without people to share with. Having the support, trust, and respect of my fellow voice talents means more to me than any gig or accolade I could ever achieve.

I look forward to seeing my friends next week, learning, growing, and playing some highly suspect games of Cards Against Humanity!
