Voiceovers and My 2019 Goals – The Not Silent Blog 01/15/19

Have you written your 2019 goals yet? As a fun exercise (or at least my voice-geeky idea of fun) I’m going to share mine. FYI dollars I’d like to make and pounds I’d like to lose were redacted. 🙂

To improve my Cash Flow this year, I will:Earn more than last yearCover all expenses and savings goalsStay under budgetMax out Health Savings AccountInvest more in my retirement fundsBook five new clients in New York City

To improve my Tools this year, I will:Get new business cards (voice talent and coach)Add an eLearning page to TomDheere.comProduce one new demo

To improve my Technique this year, I will: Get more Commercial trainingChoose one new genre to develop

To improve my Marketing this year, I will: Build and execute a campaign to attract NYC -based voice seekersWatch all remaining Instagram tutorial videos

To improve my Health this year, I will: Keep my cholesterol level below 200Lose weight

With each of these 2019 goals comes one or more tasks a.k.a. Actionable Items to help qualify and quantify exactly what I need to do to achieve each of these goals. I take a few of the tasks from each of the five categories above and put them into my Monthly Action Plan so I can develop every area of my voiceover business every month.

TIP OF THE WEEK

Remember, vague goals will give you vague results. Specific goals will give you specific results. Figure out exactly what success looks like for you in 2019 and walk it backwards. How much money do you realistically think you can make, spend, and save? How many conferences can you afford to attend? What improvements do you need to make to your recording space? Do your research, ask thoughtful questions, and feel free to book a free 15-minute consult to discuss your 2019 goals. I’m here to help. 🙂
