There is a new healthcare option just for voice actors.
It’s called Healthcare For Voice Actors, the brainchild of In Both Ears voiceover agent and industry advocate Stacey Stahl. I won’t go into detail about what they offer since it’s easier for you to check them out yourselves. You can do that at the Healthcare For Voice Actors website.
Stacey put in a ton of hard work to provide another healthcare option for voice actors and I sincerely applaud her effort. Well done, Stacey!
TIP OF THE WEEK
Healthcare For Voice Actors could be a viable alternative for some since the SAG-AFTRA 2021 benefit changes may mean some members will no longer qualify for the healthcare option they offer. I strongly suggest you look into it but you need to do your due diligence. When doing your research, ask good questions like:
Will your local hospitals and clinics accept it?
Will your current doctors accept it?
How does it interact with the ACA (ObamaCare), Medicare, and Medicaid?
How does it interact with a Health Savings Account?
Keep in mind that this healthcare option is not health insurance and laws regarding programs like this vary from state to state. I’m sure that Stacey as well as Redirect Health will be happy to answer your questions. Here’s to your health!
