A Legacy of Professional Voice Acting Insights & Industry Evolution
Welcome to the inaugural year of the Good Karma Network (GKN) Weekly Update. This archive documents my third year as a full-time professional voice actor and marks the beginning of my commitment to documenting the voiceover craft. A journey that started with cold calls in 1994 and continues to this day.
While my business has evolved into the modern Not Silent Blog, these legacy posts capture the technical foundations and community advocacy that defined my early full-time career.

Key Topics and Career Milestones from 2008
Award-Winning Animation Performance: Highlighting the success of the animation pilot "The Upstate Four." I provided one of the lead character voices for this project, which earned the top prize for “TV for Children” at the Ottawa Animation Festival.
Voiceover Character Development (Project TERRA): 2008 saw the expansion of my voice acting portfolio through the development of the character 'Agent 1.22' for the Project TERRA multimedia series. This work focused on vocal character building and fan engagement across early digital platforms.
The Full-Time Talent Transition: Reflecting on the sustainability of a 100% performance-based career and the technical infrastructure required for a high-volume professional booth.
GKN & Voiceover Ethics: Advocacy for professional standards and community networking within the voice acting industry via the Good Karma Network (GKN).
From my village to yours, this is Tom Dheere, the H is Silent, but I'm Not.
