As a voice actor, I've noticed a very interesting trend over the past few years.
It seems like direct marketing strategies such as cold/warm emails, follow-up calls, social media posts, blogs, newsletters, and postcards have become far less effective.
And it's all your fault, voice seekers!
It seems that many voiceover clients have moved their casting to pay-to-play sites. It's easier for them to curate a talent roster and post auditions. If I was a voice seeker, I would do that, too!
The voice-over industry has evolved over the years, with more voice seekers using online casting websites to find talent. This has made the process easier and more convenient, with younger voice seekers being more internet-savvy and digital-friendly. As a result, online casting sites are becoming more popular and practical for Millennial and Gen Y voice seekers.
Send a mass email to voice actors in your database letting them know you are now using an online casting site and encouraging them to connect with you there instead of sending individual emails. You could also politely request that they stop emailing you and offer to work with them in the way you prefer. This could help reduce clutter in your inbox and streamline communication. One mass email now could save you thousands of emails clogging your inbox later!
